Welcome to the Providence Foundation! We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-deductible, charitable organization dedicated to helping high school students develop their life skills: critical thinking, professional writing, oral advocacy, teambuilding through community leadership. We utilize fun and challenging programming to achieve these goals, with much of our programming being accomplished through the forum of mock trial, which is a keystone for developing critical thinking.
In our spirit of challenge, we seek “The Best of the Best” for our annual summer Providence Academy. We gather the best high school mock trial students in the country to experience our exciting ten (10) day, on-campus, overnight, advanced mock trial program.
The Providence Cup is the nation's premier National High School Mock Trial Tournament that provides cash awards to the students and teams that excel in the Cup. The Cup is held each fall in Denver, Colorado. The case which the student teams present for trial in The Cup is always based upon an actual case of historical significance. Past cases have included The Sinking of The Titanic, The Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping, and the Murder of Emmett Till.
The Mentors’ Practicum is a community outreach program that the Foundation facilitates in conjunction with the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. In the Practicum law school students mentor local high school students twice weekly throughout the academic year thereby helping empower the high school students in developing their life skills.
